GK Ambassador is an annual program which seeks to promote and increase awareness of the work of GK through the national candidates and raise funds toward the development of an Australian GK village.

Funds raised for 2010 are intended for the construction of GK Palawan (Philippines) and GK Lae (Papua New Guinea).

Candidates who raise the most money per Australia state or territory will be made GK state Ambassadors and will be sent on a GK Youth Great Adventure Tour (GK YGAT) in the following year. Subsequently, the candidate who raises the most of all states, will be proclaimed the GK Ambassador of Australia.

Roles and Responsibilities of a GK Ambassador:

As an Ambassador of Gawad Kalinga (GK), they will:

- Promote and raise awareness of the work of GK

- Attend official functions of GK in Australia and represent GK

- Be prepared to present GK to an audience

- Be registered on GK1MB

- Display leadership in Australia GK Initiatives and/or Programs

- Encouraging a positive change in the GK Youth of Australia

- Encourage the positive contribution to the Australian society as a GKA
